The DAD Project
Where Good Dads become GREAT Dads! This class is for every man involved in raising a child. Focused solely on fathers and the important role they play in children’s lives, these coaching sessions will help fathers improve their game in raising children in a warm, trusting and empathetic environment while discovering ways to care for themselves. NURTURING FATHER – A man who actively provides guidance, love and support to enhance the development and growth of children for whom he cares.

Boot Camp for New Dads®
Real men, real babies, real-world advice! BCND is a unique father-to-father, community-based workshop for first-time fathers that inspires and equips men of different economic levels, ages and cultures to become confidently engaged with their infants, support their mates, and personally navigate their transformation into dads. One 3-hour session.

Ages & Stages Classes
Babyʼs First Year, Baby Signs, Potty training, Happiest Baby on the Block. These classes are provided throughout the year and also include emphasis on babyʼs brain development, physical and emotional development, and bonding. We also include Nurturing Parenting lessons specifically for this age group.

New Mom Café
Nothing can fully prepare you for being a new parent, but having the tools and techniques and a village to accompany you along the way, will make a world of difference. New Mom Café will equip you with everything you need to know as a new mom. Each session is organized by your baby’s birth month so that all moms are experiencing the same phase in motherhood. Created for new moms of babies 0-6 months.

Oral Health Navigation
The Mom & Dad Project’s Oral Health Navigator provides community-based prevention, care coordination, and patient navigation to connect pregnant women and children who typically do not receive care from a dentist in underserved rural areas such as Big Bear. Bringing more people into the oral health system. We partner with The Center for Oral Health, The Family Health Center and the Rural Health center to provide dental services to pregnant women and children 0-5.

Play & Learn
Music and Movement, Toddler Tumbling, Big Messy Art, Toddler Cooking, and Story Time – to name a few… These classes are provided throughout the year and are all about bonding with your children and having a great time! During these classes we also assess developmental stages and incorporate nurturing parenting skills.

Reach Out & Read
Reach Out and Read gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together. The Mom & Dad Project partners with The Family Health Center to provide free books to children 0-5 to provide FREE books at each well child visit.

Effective Discipline Classes
This class is designed to teach parents the importance of raising children in a warm, trusting and empathetic environment using the Nurturing Parenting curriculum. We cover effective methods of discipline and other skills that will help build self-worth and personal power and promote a successful family environment.

Resource Center
The Mom & Dad Project Resource Center offers a variety of services that include linkages to services such as WIC, medical insurance, developmental screenings, counseling and basic needs referrals. We also have a lending library of toys, games and books.

WIC (Women, Infants and Children)
Monday through Wednesday the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program is at the Brenda Boss Family Resource Center. WIC is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, mothers with infants and young children under the age of 5 eat well, be active and stay healthy.
